About Jane
Jane runs her own marketing consultancy and training business in the Cotswolds, working with a wide range of small businesses and teaching in a variety of settings. She is a local network leader for Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE) and teaches regular sessions for Cotswold Women in Business.
Jane honed her writing skills while working for brands such as Shell and Cable & Wireless, having started out as a Public Relations Officer for a Birmingham advertising agency.
As a writer, she handles long and short copy assignments, from publications to website copy, for companies both large and small. She also writes her own regular marketing newsletter and blog and is available as a guest writer on a range of small business success topics.
“Jane Heaton has an excellent approach to unravelling the myth around what Marketing actually is. She has a calm, logical and effective approach to Marketing. In particular, her skill in planning a marketing strategy for long term benefits for each business she works with, has been very useful to all the clients I have recommended to Jane.
Her unique style in the personal approach she gives to clients with follow up support as needed is so important and reassuring for small businesses. Key marketing decisions can often be quite costly and a word of advice or guidance from someone who understands your business could save you thousands.”

“Jane has worked closely with me to build my business, a key part of which has been the website. Not only did she provide clear and expert advice on how to structure the content, she wrote the actual copy and plays a key role in monitoring the performance of the site and suggesting ongoing improvements. I’m especially pleased that the tone and style perfectly reflects the lively, straightforward personality of Distance Dieters and that new content postings keep the site up to date and fresh for existing clients and new visitors alike.”
